My job is to make travelers and tourist happy by guiding them around (or, if I can not do it myself, make sure the traveler get the best guide available, we, Peter and I, can guarantee you that). As a local girl I have several interesting tours for you available. Why interesting? I am able to offer you something that other local tour guide don't do (or can not do, depends on the person). So what do I offer? Of course we can do the usual tour with visiting Moonhill and Xingping. But what if you can get a real rural Chinese experience? After all, I am born in a local village not far from Yangshuo. You can find it on the map, it's called Ping Le, not too far south east of Yangshuo. Few, if any, visit the village, which is really a shame.
"One of those great experiences you want to have
as a visitor, meeting local children! We visited a school and we ended
up teaching an impromptu English class! It was fantastic, as our
amazing photos attest."
Susan Cartwright and Melanie Smith So why don't people visit my village? Unknown makes unwanted! But the fact that few people visit doesn't mean it's not worth to come, on the contrary! It's a nice little town with plenty to see and experience. As I know the people and know where to look, I am the one you need. Like I said, I can offer you all the usual tours, get a bicycle and go to Moonhill, do a river raft trek on the Li River or a cruise from Guilin. to Moonhill, do a river raft trek on the Li River or a cruise from Guilin.

Craig and Kristy Holch You’ve come to see the real China and to meet real Chinese people. In this customized daytrip, you will travel with a professional guide to an unspoiled farming village and meet family, friends, and neighbors, who are still farming the land, the way Chinese have for thousands of years.
Here you will live the way the villagers do, without the conveniences and complications of modern society and wealth. In return for giving up your familiar comforts, you will gain unparalleled insight why these people smile so easily, in spite of the difficult life faced by China's farmers. This tour is customized for YOUSee how the villagers combine sewing work, orchards, rice fields, and other small enterprises to sustain their families. Get a chance to observe a classroom, have a meal with a local farm family, watch the rice harvest, or even participate. You can even stay overnight in a real working farmhouse, minus the amenities of tourist hotels. Your local tour guide, me, will customize your trip to your interests. Cruise down the riverThe best way to reach the village is by boat. Your private boat, typical of those used by locals, takes you about an hour along the scenic river to the village.
This guided tour is perfect for solo travelers up to groups up to four. If your group is larger, please call or write to discuss. Preserving China's heritageChina is changing rapidly, even in the rural areas where both the farmers and their lands are disappearing to feed the growing industrial economy. Tourism and its effects can further dramatically alter village lifestyles. We strive to minimize the effects of tourism, to retain the authentic China. To that end, you are asked not to tip any villagers, but are encouraged to bring your smile and willingness to make friends. Extra donations will go towards the school (never to me).
